    it’s not a five colour palette as the white and black don’t count as colours. Only the yellow, red and blue. So a three colour palette.

    Great video. I like to use a sperate paper between the drawing and the canvas. This way I can keep the drawing without the charcoal on the back of it. I am Looking forward to part 2.

    I like how you decided to handle this situation. It seems like people are seemingly always so identified with their personal tastes and ideas that any challenge to their thoughts is like an attack on their identity. It's the human problem that causes most of the crap in the world today. Anyone who can be an example of acceptance and open mindedness is very truly a positive force in our world.

      great question - it’s because i can initially draw on a smaller scale when measuring out the proportions/composition (it’s easier to do on a smaller scale for me).

    Would a projector help in this case? I feel like it would reduce the cost of buying so many materials to trace the images. I bought one used for 20$ at goodwill and I've been thinking of using it for my art projects when I do a digital painting 🙂

    The charcoal transfer method is crazy messy lol. Back when I was into tattooing, we used Graphite Transfer paper for sketches. So it works easy for transferring to Canvas as well. "Graphite Transfer paper" not Tattoo Stencil paper. You can also reuse the Graphite Transfer paper multiple times. THANKS FOR YOUR VIDEOS!!!!!!!

      i used to use graphite transfer paper for years but i found the lines weren’t dark enough to be visible after i laid down the tone and underpainting 😅 maybe i’ll try some charcoal transfer paper

    • @JeremyWorst
      @JeremyWorst 5 днів тому

      @@HappyDArtist You are right the lines are very faint! They would basically disappear with a tone over them! 😭 I use acrylics and paint Alla Prima style so most of the time I just need a basic outline of what I'm painting. I've went from grid method to full on projector mode because of the size of my paintings. Grid method was a big time waster too. Have you tried projectors? I'm basically a projector junky now ... I can't go back😅

    I prefer a limited palette as well. I typically stick with a modified Zorn palette, in order to use blues and greens more readily I add Pthalo Blue in. Sometimes It's a lot of fun to experiment with the extremely saturated color options for more surreal options though.

    I also agree with you on the primary colour topic. I know that printers are often set up with the magenta etc colour palettes, and in photography you use this as well, but for painting I find that the traditional primary colours in my personal opinion works best 😊
